First, here are some questions you need to consider:

1. Cats can have a lifespan for up to 20 years (if lucky!) Are you prepared to care for it lovingly till the end?

2. Is everyone in your home/ family agreeable to the adoption and ready to accept the cat as family?

3. Are you prepared to mesh your windows and catproof your home?

4. Good quality cat food costs around S$100/ month - factor in another S$50 for litter, toys, treats. Vet bills can be quite expensive - for healthy cats’ checkups, factor in S$100-200/ year. More if your cat is ill. Are you ok with this financially?

This is our adoption criteria! You have to be agreeable to all these conditions, otherwise, we will not be able to proceed.

1. Your windows must be meshed and your home catproofed (including removing plants toxic to cats).

2. You must be willing and able to provide timely and adequate medical care for your cat when needed.

3. You must be willing and able to provide a good environment and good nutrition for your cat.

4. You must not let your cat wander outdoors unsupervised without a leash.

5. You must be comfortable with our adoption process - see below!

2. Get in touch with us via the adoption interest form.

3. We will contact you to set up an appointment! Please note this will be Saturday, 2-5pm or Sunday 3-6pm only.

4. We welcome you to Metta for your first visit!! Chat with us about the cat you’re keen on, and whether he/she is suitable for your home.

5. Ponder ponder ponder… We have a 1-week cooling off period where you think about your kitty and update your family/ housemates.

6. We welcome you for your 2nd visit! Come down and discuss with us again, and confirm the kitty you’re keen on. (Sometimes, more than 2 visits may be needed - we will discuss this with you.)

7. Get prepped! We’ll provide a checklist for you.

8. Once you’re all ready, we will set up a video call to check out your meshing and catproofing, and give some tips as needed!

9. If all is ok, we will bring kitty down to begin a 2-week adoption trial.

10. After 2 weeks, if all’s good - ADOPTION SUCCESS! Keep in touch with us! We LOVE getting cute kitty pics and vids! :)
