Debora & Topping
Cat, male, 3 yrs
Adopted Nov 2020
Single cat household
Debora, her husband and little son adopted Topping in Nov 2020, when he was still coming out of his kitten phase! They wanted to adopt instead of buying as they believed in stopping the kitten mills and inhumane breeding.
The family came to visit Topping and was charmed by his good-natured and friendly manner. Their son warmed up quickly to him, too, and they were pleased that the 2 boys could be companions to each other!
At first, Debora was worried about Topping’s sinus issues and general health. She was initially also unsure of whether Topping was litter-trained or had other behavioural issues, and more importantly, whether he would get along with her son.
Her fears were allayed, especially after she realised Topping was already completely litter-trained. His health has improved greatly under the family’s loving care, and as you can see from the photo below - he gets along very well with his human brother! He is always eager for the family’s attention, and loves getting pets or scratches from them by rolling over to make his “cute belly pose”! He loves his playtime too, and uses both paws to grab their feet to ask for play! He fusses a lot too, when his food bowl gets empty. 😁
Debora shared that Topping has brought more fun and enrichment to their family life. With more interaction, he has learned to recognise his name, and he now knows when he’s called by his name. He even tries to communicate with them too!
